Scenic Walhalla is a picturesque community nestled along the bends of the Pembina River just east of the colorful Pembina Gorge and surrounding hills and valleys, located in the Rendezvous Region. Walhalla is the second oldest community is the state, having been blessed with a rich historical heritage. These two amenities—natural beauty and a rich, colorful history-will provide an exciting and tremendous future for our friendly community.

We offer much to do, including canoeing or kayaking the beautiful Pembina River, enjoying Frost Tire’s summer musical productions, camping in beautiful Riverside Park and enjoying the scenic Gorge. There is a beautiful nine-hole golf course in the Gorge with a dynamic view of Frost Fire’s Ski Resort. Birding is abundant in the area, as will as historic sights including the Gingras Trading Post, Kittson Trading Post, and Three Martyr’s Graves. Enjoy beautiful art and gifts at Gorge Art Gallery, located at the Walhalla Area Chamber of Commerce. Every Friday in the Chamber/Gorge Gallery, a local artist is spotlighted for the day.

Walhalla’s Farmers Market is held every Saturday morning at 9 a.m. next to the Rendezvous Market on Main Street.

We offer much to do, including canoeing and kayaking on the beautiful Pembina River, enjoying Frost Fire’s 2008 production of “Les Miserables”, camping in beautiful Riverside Park and enjoying the scenic Gorge.

There is a beautiful nine-hole golf course in the Gorge with a dynamic view of Frost Fire’s Ski Resort. Birding is abundant in the area, as will as historic sights including the Gingras Trading Post.

Enjoy beautiful art and gifts at the Gorge Art Gallery, located at the Walhalla Area Chamber of Commerce. The Gorge Art Gallery is expanding its business to include giving art classes in the building. There is always room for more artists and people are encouraged to display their art in the Gallery. Every Friday in the Chamber/Gorge Gallery, a local artist is spotlighted for the day. Stop in and visit, there is always coffee on.

The Walhalla Farmer’s Market is held every Saturday morning at 9 am on Main Street until the weather is too cold.

June 14th is the day for Walhalla’s 10th annual citywide rummage sales and ADM’s Safety Fair in Riverside Park.

Get ready to sample ribs on June 28 th when Walhalla will hold their 3rd Annual Rendezvous Rib Fest in the parking lot at the Walhalla Inn.

July 4-6 will be a Spectacular weekend in Riverside Park starting Friday July 4th with Farmers Market in the park followed by the parade down town and then back to the park for the afternoon with games geared to kids of all ages. The Chamber will be sponsoring a “Tribute to Country music” at the amphitheater. Friday night July 4th prepare to watch the biggest little fireworks show in North Eastern North Dakota.

The Gorge Art & Heritage Council will have their art Festival July 5th starting at 10 a.m. in Riverside Park; this year’s focus will be on the Pioneer Spirit.

Sunday, July 6th start the morning off with Church in the park then take in the matinee “Les Miserables” at Frost Fire.

July 25th, 26th & 27th will be a big weekend in the area with the International Golf Tournament taking place in the towns of Walhalla and Langdon as well as Morden and Winkler in Manitoba.

August 9th is the date chosen for Walhalla’s Chalk Festival held in conjunction with the farmers Market.

August 30th the Walhalla Ridge Riders will hold their annual overnight trail ride.

September 13th plan to attend a chuck wagon chili cook off in the parking lot at the Walhalla Inn.

September 27th is Walhalla’s 5th Annual Giant Pumpkin Festival, home of North Dakota’s heaviest unofficial giant pumpkin. Plan to spend the fall day enjoying the events.

November 15th begins the Christmas festivities in Walhalla with the Tour of Homes, Christmas open houses at Walhalla businesses and a mini craft show.

In December, Walhalla will again be having the medallion hunt along with the Christmas basket giveaway. Walhalla will also again be lighting up Riverside Park during the Christmas season.
